I reside in the Pacific Northwest with my two children and Gus, the cat. I have a passion for human resources, but my personal experiences with the department weren't always resourceful or helpful - sometimes they made things worse. I've observed a shift from a focus on the human aspect of employment to a more corporate or company-centric approach. employers want their teams to dedicate their careers to the company's mission, but we offer less and less incentive for them to do so. Wages have stagnated, benefits have become rote, career trajectory is often unclear - employees have been disengaging from this type of work environment. It's created staffing issues for a lot of companies, and as time goes on, the issues will only become more compounded.
Motivated by this observation, I established Insightful Human. My goal is to work with HR teams, guiding them on ways to enhance dynamics, inclusivity, intuition, and insightfulness. This, in turn, will inspire thoughtful leadership selections and enable the creation of strategic performance plans. The ultimate outcome is intuitive workforce planning and the ability to keep employees engaged and motivated to perform at their best.
In addition to my professional pursuits, I navigate the challenges of ADHD, which has impacted my experiences in various jobs. I hope to share insights gained from years of on-the-job struggles. Understanding and effectively engaging neurodiverse individuals requires a nuanced approach. For employers seeking to maximize workforce productivity, the key lies in learning the diverse ways in which individuals can be motivated.
As far as education goes, I have a B.A. in English Literature and a B.A. in Religious Studies. I also have a Master's in Business Administration.
